The longer the track the better for inexperienced mountain riders. It allows you more time to think and is far more forgiving. Track length on the prairies is not the issue, the lug height is the problem. Anything over 2.5/2.6 lug height will not last in low snow conditions. I rode 163 x 2.5...
Hey Curtis, I would just like to give a huge shout out to the Valemount groomers. We rode Clemina on Monday and the trail was like glass, it makes the low snow conditions acceptable.

Drill out the large head rivet, make a nice metal tab and rivet on. The tab can be long enough to maintain proper tension on the exhaust. Don't haywire it together, make it look good and be functional.

Great video, but you made the goat path look far too easy. As we all know the single path is usually much worse and not suitable for the faint of heart.
