Also 6'3" and I run a 10" riser, for the trail home primarily... Don't need it for most riding but After a long day, to ride whoops downhill on the way home out of forester or something, the riser makes it survivable.
Agreed on the handle bars being an sp problem. I shoulda sprung for the x package I guess.
As for the track rubbing, it rubs on the side of the tunnel, so it's not a loose thing, it's a tight clearance - sloppy tmotion alignment thing I think.
My main gripe (#1) and some small gripes not in any particular order:
1. The BRP 'bumper to bumper' warranty is useless. I don't know anyone who has been able to get something repaired under it, they classify everything as 'abuse' or 'normal wear'. If my top end pops at 2500km it's not covered...
Heard the area around Lake Koocanusa was good for dirt biking and camping. I'm probably heading down that way for the long weekend. Any info on random camping places, dirt bike trails, trail maps, stuff to watch out for, where not to go etc would be appreciated. If you don't want that info in...
Just got word that hwy 40 going north from the gap road is closed. Anyone got any details? Is the 532 reopened? Is the 40 going south from the gap road still open?
Do you mean just north of the lake? So that would mean 532 is closed?
And by gap road you mean the road that follows the Oldman? How far north can I get up the 940/40?
Just wondering if anyone knows if highway 532 (heading west from chain lakes) is passable? I'm looking to get to highway 40 and head south from there on the long weekend coming up. Lots of reports of damage in the area, so I'm thinking it's probably wrecked, but can't find a shred of info online...
$154 just seems like a rip off cause this battery is the size of my knuckle. I can get a 27T deep cycle battery for $115 which is 10 times the size and holds 25 times the charge. On ebay, you can find the things for $30 in the USA, but they can't ship to Canada, go figure.
Got a new one from Blackfoot Motorsports today.
The old one is only about 2 years old. It worked just fine before, cranked over fast, never ran out of juice. I've had dead batteries before, they still have ~10-11 volts, and put out a little bit of energy and take a little bit of a charge. This...
Been riding all spring no problems, then I left the key on for 3 days and found the battery completely dead. Hooked a booster to it, quad started fine but the battery wouldn't build up any charge so I kept having to boost it.
I pulled the battery out, stuck it on a trickle charger, but nothing...
X2
My own experience with a beaten up, wrecked, rusty old Honda was that it was more reliable than the 2006 Sportsman 2-up I replaced it with. Electrical problems galore on the sportsman, would die every time it saw water (small puddles even), periodically ran rough for no reason, replaced all...
Had the left side of my handle bars come off in my hand while sidehilling last weekend. Snapped right at the mountain strap stud. Wondering how many others have had this problem and if anyone's got a recommendation on aftermarket bars that are stronger than the stock skidoo ones.
I took it into...
Thanks, I did some more digging. Turns out a WR250-R is road legal from the factory, but the WR250-F is not road legal despite having all the turn signals and other crap. The difference is in the frame design, and there is no way to certify an F for on-road use. So basically, I'm screwed with...
Getting my class 6 will cost ~$600 ($450 for the course, $137 for the test).
Cost with my class 6 for just 3rd party liability is $168/year
Cost without is $266.
Basically works out to paying for itself in 6 years...
Other considerations, I am buying a WR250 bike, which might be road legal...
