I just bought a used 2023 doo, I was on the fence between it and the boost. I could have got a brand new boost OTD for cheaper than I got the used skidoo for. Pretty crazy how many 2023 polaris sleds are sitting at dealers. They are dumping them for cheap
Anything else I should be grabbing for this sled? All updates and recalls are done, it has a tki driveshaft retainer in it. Anyone put a lightweight can on one? Some weight savings to be had there for sure. Might throw a shorter riser on it.
I am picking up a G5 turbo doo on Friday and heading straight to the hills, anyone have a rough idea on what tools a guy needs to pack on these sleds? I have almost everything I would ever need on my sidewinder and like to be prepared if needed. Thanks.
Well in the sidewinder the belt drive was a big upgrade, there’s a reason the other two manufacturers went to a belt drive as well. Polaris has had one since 2013 it’s not just a fad. I’m trying to figure out what sled I want next but in the meantime I’ll work on trying to ride my Yamaha harder 😉
The first thing I would do if I bought a G5 is put a belt drive on it, you need to make sure your belt tension is correct and they should never blow. Im on my third season with the belt drive in my sidewinder and the belt looks new,. I noticed a difference as soon as I installed it. Might not...
It might be pretty close fully loaded out. You can grab a base 858 for under 20k otd if you dont need a gauge and want to upgrade your suspension on your own.
I rode a new turbo G5 last weekend, I really thought I was going to love it but it was just ok for me. The extra weight is noticeable compared to the boost but the bottom end is better and the power comes on smooth. I will be grabbing a catalyst as soon as they put a turbo in it but thought...
They want $2000 for the gauge and molded hood to accept the gauge, really want this sled but there are some things I am having a hard time looking past. Need to get on one and try it.
Why does the gauge need cell service to work in Canada? I swear the reason Polaris is selling mountain sleds is that damn 7s gauge, its awesome and the reason its awesome is you don't need cell service!
Ya I am waiting to hear from a dealer the exact price but that really throws a wrench into my plans as well... That price would make a lot more sense if it had a turbo bolted to it
Rode Salmon on Saturday, saw a few sleds but no way was there anywhere near 90. Rained a bit for an hour or so then turned to snow. Awesome day with lots of fresh left. The trail in was the worst I have seen it but worth it. Warmer temps on the way (n)
I still say the best mod I did to my winder was the belt drive, the elevate spindles are great and the upper a-arms as well but if I could have only done one it would have been the belt drive.
Rode boulder Sunday and it was tracked out pretty bad, made our way back to the lakes and found good snow but glad to see more is on the way in the forecast.
We rip on my buddy pretty hard for riding a Polaris boost, he hasnt really had any issues at all and I even spent some time on it this past weekend in revy and it works great, the majority of the mountain sled market sure seems to be riding Polaris as well. I starting looking and there are some...
