They are a blast ! Change out your fork springs, makes a world old difference. Stock springs are usually around .48 kg. I put in some .62 kg springs from Cannon Racecraft, and trail, alpine, tree riding was much improved. I see the Bergs are on the Race-tech site as well . Best $160 you can...

Still luv my 98 fatboy, bought it new , when Canadian Dollar was 67 cents vs. USD. Yikes ! After going to the Edmonton Bike Show a 80 cubic inch Evolution motor seems small !! You bought a legend Lyle , you will enjoy that bike , trust me  120,000 stress free km on mine !

With this economy, they have some spare time to ride .......
