    The cost to replace a modern gas engine is not like swapping a chev 350 anymore I have had v-10 fords and 6.4's replaced. By the time the truck drives out of the shop the cost difference is marginal. Lots of good opinions on here but any well worked gas engine isn't gonna be too chit hot after 100k.

    Common misconception when you look at gas horsepower and torque numbers are based at an RPM where most people would never let sit at for longer than 20-30 seconds. 411hp@5500rpm 434 ftlb @4500rpm.     My buddy had one stolen, apparently the pot metal brackets will snap if you give them a quick jerk. So for his next one he siliconed razor blades into the heat sinks on the backside said he walked out one morning and looked like someone learned a lesson.

    Thanks tried looking on duramax forums but hard to get a straight answer getting old and chitty dont wanna do anything to mess with the ride (no more lifts) my mega cab was pretty easy to get bigger rubber without doing anything and still rides like a tractor.
