I would suspect that there are two major contributors to this; 1) volume - the US has 10 times the population of Canada. Just like anything, volume speaks to price. 2) Even though the US economy is in the sh!tter and their dollar has been lesser in value during the past few years-...
Haha...that's what happens during shock tuning on a summer day. The kokanee wasn't mine though...I like good beer:D Those americans will drink anything!!
Tom...I am not battling to support anything, but I do know what is right and wrong. I use my truck offroad a HUGE percentage of the time...hence the "offroad lights" and my company name!! I also have blackout covers for all of them, so please don't judge by what you see in an avatar pic...
Have you personally tried aiming these retrofits in newer Ram reflector housings, or are you just basing your experience on what you have read? I am not denying the fact that they are used irresponsibly and 100% illegal, but IMO they can be aimed in (at least some manufacturers) reflector...
Sales are absolutely fine...because I don't sell or install them, but I have helped many buddies align/aim them and they do have a good cut-off in reflector housings in a low beam application. You say that you can't aim them "period"...I say bull sh!t. Like I said....I don't run them myself...
From what I've been told from guys that have 13's and 14's is that the numbers are the same. I know that My '14 is using the same numbers as my buddies '13 (both with the drop-in kits) and all is well. I don't think mapping changed so much from 13 - 14, but the wiring harness did. Just what...
A great deal of newer trucks run their daytime running lights off of the high beam circuit which is why using the high beam as the switched power source for auxiliary lights no good. It is a sure fired way to grenade an expensive light as well.
Good stats that I believe pertain to airbags in general and not any one specific brand.
FYI - we can sell whatever brands we desire - ABS just happens to be our brand of choice and what we choose to endorse. We don't sell products because we have to, but because we choose to. So, the fact...
If this is the DT avy that you are talking about...it doesn't look like he is wearing a pack, so probably no bearing on his survival...just sayin' :)

I think what people really have to figure out with manufacturers campaigns is; what is true and what is fluff. The ability to breathe the air from your bag is a myth. The amount of compression put upon your chest from avy snow makes it almost impossible to fill your lungs with anything, and...
I have never found a site dedicated to this, but there are multiple independent reviews. Do a Google search, there are many reviews out there.
A few things that we took into consideration when choosing a brand to sell are:
Time in Industry
Type of fill gas
Activation trigger (pneumatic vs...
SBR is correct. It is a personal choice and it is all about what you and the rest of your riding group are comfortable with.
Now....can we please get back to regularly scheduled programming!!
I'm far from self righteous Jay, but thanks:) Have a read over your original reply to what was intended to be an informative review on a certain pack. As usual...you turned it into something else...keep up the good work!!
Thanks Ken...It really does come down to personal preference. I used a BCA for a couple of years, but it felt like a suitcase on my back...not to mention that I am not a fan of the cable actuation. And, the Snowpulse feels way too bulky for me. I wear an ABS Vario 30 packed to the brim and I...
