    Parking etiquette on access roads...

So, we head up Little Sands today with the truck and deck. I know the road well and had a pretty good idea where the snow line was and know where the first turn around is. We get to within 50' of the first turn around and snow line and BINGO...there's a truck parked in the middle of the road...

    Powder, Rain, & Sunshine - It's Springtime!

A big shout out and thanks to the the South Rockies Avalanche Team!! You guys did an awesome job of keeping us informed this season. It is so awesome to have such good observation in a region that never used to have a lot of data. Thanks, and I for one, look forward to hearing from y'all next...

Which sled deck for mega cab while pulling travel trailer????

IMO...That's a lot of weight to be putting on your box rails...

    Tires, again.

That's an odd one!! We pre ran and raced the Baja 1000 one year and then pre ran the next year on the same set of production Toyo M/T's (severe, sharp and rocky terrain) at 18 psi on a Dodge with CTD. Not one flat or tread issue. As a matter of fact my neighbour is still rolling that set of...

    Tires, again.

Cale, I believe you are running stock or close to stock size A/T's? If so, these sizes in an A/T are a little more forgiving on tire wear with higher pressures, compared to a wider tire. Wider Toyo's tend to cup in the center when brought up to higher pressures. For instance, I run 35-37 PSI...

    Tires, again.

I would start out at 45 PSI all the way around...and you could probably run a little less in the rear if you're running empty in the box. Rotate them every 5-7000kms

    Tires, again.

I love when people say things like this. We sell certain brands because we want to...not because we have to. We probably put tires through more paces in all seasons and conditions than the average person. If you max out the pressure of a Toyo...they will shred apart, but if you know the...

    Tires, again.

Yep...I base my opinion on all of the above, as it is not an accurate review of an A/T tire if it only get's used in the summer. IMO...half of what makes a good A/T tire is how it works in all seasons and conditions.

    Tires, again.

Either, Or. Tire construction is virtually the same on both the regular AT2 and Xtreme. The Xtreme marketing is the larger sized tires and has a little more aggressive sidewall tread than of the regular AT2. The kicker is that the Xtreme sizes don't carry the same mileage warranty that the...

LOL...you asked how I could substantiate my comment and how I came to that conclusion...so I was just letting you know :) I'm all about the details!!

    Tires, again.

Have you run the AT2 Ric? We have run both tires...and here are my findings - Road Noise - both tires are relatively equal. - Highway driving snow and ice - Although both tires perform well; The AT2's superior tread design and self cleaning capabilities perform much better when the snow gets a...

    Draconian Diesel down load

generally the cause is soot build up. THere is a "book" cleaning procedure, but quite often it doesn't work.

Yes, I still have the old one, but haven't taken it apart yet!

    Draconian Diesel down load

A little more rub on the drivers side is normal, as you can't adjust the track bar long enough (without creating other issues) to center the axle - so the axle is alway over a tad bit farther on the drivers side, which in turn makes it rub more on that side.

    Draconian Diesel down load

Yep...5.75" BS with a 9" wide wheel (combined with a 35x12.5 tire) seems to be the limit without control arms on the 4th gens. One thing that you can try for the time being is loosening off your cab bolts and sliding the body back on the frame (ratchet strap on either side body to the frame) I...

    Tires, again.

There's something to be said about the quality of a Toyo; I run a 37x13.5R17 Toyo M/T at 37psi on my 2012 Ram w/CTD. They have NEVER been balanced (just lined the dot to the valve stem) and they are smooth as silk at 100mph on the highway. I generally get 75,000 + kms out of a set. The bulk...

    Draconian Diesel down load

I don't know for sure, but when you do some research...it is a fairly common problem. I haven't pulled my old turbo apart yet, but it sounds like there's a gear mechanism (not the actuator, but internal of the turbo) that opens and closes the variable veins and that is what is piling up. This...

    Draconian Diesel down load

No...didn't do injectors, but it is supposed to be an unreal combo with a bigger set of nozzles:D I contemplated the 2nd gen swap too, but same here...no exhaust brake = no bueno So far, I'm very happy with the turbo. I replaced it out of necessity...I seized up the stock VGT in San Felipe on...
