I think u are jetted to rich, I had same setup and run 390/370 with 50 pilot needle #2 from top of jet needle, around grande prairie. I would run 350/330 in the mountains, same slp pipe and gutted air box. This was jetting for 5c to -12c. U should be safe to -30c with your jetting. If plugs are...
What did you use to seal the 2 case halves? I used three bond 1104 with good results. Also the crank seals that come with the gasket kit i would not trust, My mag side seal did not last long and i had to change it out with a polaris one. Stator timing marks lined up perfectly? Other than that...
I would check the motor mounts, grab the primary and try to lift it up. Any movement usually means ripped motor mounts. MY gen 2 800 was hard on motor mounts until i put a slp torque arm in front of the motor.
I would check if your choke is working, might be seized up after sitting for so long. Would be a good time to take carbs apart and clean them and blow out jet passages and choke circuit.
x2, bulldogs are expensive and very prone to problems. no amount of research will tell you about their allergy problems, intestinal problems, eye problems, skin problems and tail socket problems. we researched the breed as well and thought that a bulldog would be perfect for us. to make a long...
well any progress with gettin sled running reliably? I never said polaris, i said a good mechanic. did u verify the timing etc. is the top end and wiring you replaced the right stuff? cylinders from same year sled etc?
If you are burning holes in your piston at idle it's not a main jet problem. main jet controls fuel from 3/4 to wide open throttle. sounds like a air leak, maybe crank seals. check your pilot jets and raise your needles, drop the clip. verify the cooling system is circulating after your "fan for...
you could try shutting motor down with the choke when its really cold. the fuel washes some of the oil off the piston making it easier to pull over. my 00 800 is real hard to pull over at-20 and below. brace yourself and pull hard!!
mixing fuel is not a cure for a poor running sled. what elevation are u riding at? is there a air lock in the cooling system? what have u done three times and spent 10 grand on?
I run 360 mag 350 pto for around 3-6000 feet. 400's would be about right for around edmonton. you need to find out...
take the plugs out and the belt off, turn it over with the clutch, it should turn over easily by hand. try going forward and then backwards, if there is a crank problem you should be able to feel it in the transition from forward to backwards.
How were the snow conditions? ICY? you running a 2" track? what track did the other sleds that day have? I tried a older and lighter camoplast track and it would melt the sliders so i put my old one back on and problem solved. The clips were wore out i assume.
I have a 04 with a bullydog as well, really like the added power and better mileage. one thing though when you put a tune on it you can no longer use the trucks computer to calculate mileage, the tune screws it up. the best way is reset kms and fill up then next fill record liters vs kms and...
