^^^ this. Put a P85 on a Cat 800, and you’ll know what it’s like to pull start an M1000 with a high compression head. Any doubts. Try pull darting a sled without the primary clutch installed...
Not running it, but did run the skinz concept front end ( very similar geometry ). Far better handling gains on the 4S with a 16 Cat front end and some rear suspension changes. Not selling anything, PM me for details
In my experience, using reverse is pointless, all you’ll do is smoke the belt, whether on the snow or a oncrete floor. The advantage is better belt grip with less side force (heat), and a more sensitive clutch (better backshift).
Torsional secondaries went the way of the dodo simply because they don’t work well in reverse, and pretty much every new 2 stroke sled has engine reverse. In my opinion ( and it is just an opinion), the torsional secondary is a better performer, offers better belt life, and is much easier on...
I’ve done the grippers on a Cat. You need to trim the bottom of the ski rubber and shave a bit out of the ski base. As mentioned, use the Polaris bolts.
FWIW, I don’t have the hurricane tune. But I do have an EVO stage 4 flash. It is a significant improvement over stock. (I think they claim +58hp, but that places it around 238hp on the dyno). Not bad for a flash, muffler & intake. Does it need more. Not in my opinion, the sled is more capable...
Prepare yourself for the unexpected. Meaning: possess winter survival skills, know 1st aid, dress appropriately, and ride with others that not only know how to ride, but have patience and are willing to teach you in a controlled area. Stay out of the weed bag and avoid alcohol. Know how to use a...
I’ve used their h5 alloy clutch springs, which are a quality product. The reflash they offered for the 1100T worked ok from what I’ve seen. The pipes from 08-11 were really thin and cracked a lot, but made decent power. Never had much use for their stuff otherwise...
I received my 2020 Winter catalog in the mail last Thursday. I never ordered it, but I've ordered stuff from them in the past, so perhaps I'm on a mailing list? FWIW, I've only ordered from them once online and the order was a bit screwed up. So now I only order over the phone, and have had good...
Realistically, you won’t get 260hp on pump gas, nor will you get it from the stock IHI compressor at elevation regardless of flash or fuel used. Blips on the dyno basically. A lot of the tunes available for the 1100 Suzuki use a DET light, problem is that by the time you see it and react, it’s...
I have a 17 King Cat (same as 18 Winder except for clutches). Skid plate is a MUST with D&R chaincase, various flashes available, tether is a must have. On mine I have tunnel bracing, front bumper, Evo’s stage 4 flash, B&M fab boards, CAI& muffler. Love the sled, working on fine tuning the...
I’m also running an EVO stage 4 and am happy with it. That said, I don’t believe any flash will get you 260-270 hp on the hill in real world conditions based on past experience with the 1100T Suzuki, but I also feel that there are VERY FEW riders that can ride a true 260-270hp sled to it’s...
If the Kmod is set up, it is a great skid in the powder, gets up n the snow and stays there. I’ve had a few different skids over the years, and the Kmod is under both sleds in our stable for good reason. If your results are different, give Kevin a call and he’ll help you tune it.
The 2nd generation snowbike (if it becomes reality) will not replace a sled, but it should prove to be another choice that may be more cost effective then building one. I’d be a 1st year buyer, frankly the OEM’s do a great job providing excellent equipment for the backcountry. I’ve seen...
Market isn’t there for used. I listed a Ultra Ltd with very low mileage and tons of extras, couldn’t even get interest at 19k (dealer wholesale is 17k for a stock bike). I’m not giving it away, so she’ll remain in the stable.
I have a new 300M jackshaft from OSP Racing if you’re willing to lose reverse. I had one on my Big Chute Kit, bought two to build another, but ended up with a King Cat (Sidewinder). 60% of new.
There are a few outfits offering 300m jack / driveshafts. Heck, I’ve had one or two built by machine shops in the past. Belt drive is tough, and will handle shock loading to a certain extent - I’ve ran them on boosted and big bore sleds for years. Hyvo is about the best chain you can get if...
