    Snowbike boot repair Edmonton area?

Does anyone know of a boot repair place in or around the Edmonton area? My snowbike boots (which have long been discontinued) need a bit of stitching repair. I looked at the Klim Havoc boot as a replacement, but they simply don't offer the same protection as these, so I'd like to get them...

    4 Stroke or nothing

The stock skid isn’t coupled. The QSL shock helps, but it isn’t the answer on a boosted 4S with a 3” track. I’m running a Kmod skid on mine, and under power it still carries the skis 2.5’ off the ground in position 1 when climbing. That said, I think a lot of riders love making them stand on...

    Sidewinder or kingcat

What colour do you like? They are basically identical, different clutches. Neither one is a great trail sled with the short cooler, make sure you run scratchers if not in GOOD snow. I would consider an MTX153 or High Country for the riding you are describing...

What the **** is wrong with this 2007 M8

I’m thinking either the throttle body shaft bushings are toast (causing an air leak), intake boots are cracked maybe. Maybe reeds are shot. To check for an air leak, spray carb cleaner around crank seals, intake boots, and throttle body linkage. Change in speed will tell you where to look closer...

    Flooded 670

Most of the 670’s carbs (both 40 & 44mm) had Viton needle and seat. A good fix to prevent flooding when pointed downhill was to use the heavier brass units from the 94? Mach 1.

    Salt Damage on Sled

Most truck stops or greggs distributing sells trailer brightener- that product works very well.

    2019 Alpha

Just an observation - Cat themselves stated that the Alpha was intended for deep snow only, hence why they also offer the MC and Hardcore. Is the single rail weaker then a two rail setup? I would think so, and in our quest for lighter sleds, Ice Age sells a lot of Bomber rails for the aggressive...

For those that don't carry a spot, inreach or sat phone why not?

I won’t be popular for this, but here goes: One can have every piece of safety equipment, every ounce of training and still be up sh&t creek without a paddle due to poor decision making. I see it often, where guys with AST1 and a year airbags temp fate on a regular basis, because they feel...

    Ladies Snowbike Wanted

That is a great price up front. I was going to go that route myself, but didn’t for a few reasons... 1: Although the Sherco 450 is a work of art, parts aren’t readily available in Canada, as the distributor no longer carries them. 2: The Camso kits the SXV450 uses is a pre 2018 kit, a lot of...

Sidewinder 174 build and season ride report

Lag? Either you have a clutching thing going on or it’s something about the Hurricane tune. Mine has EVO’s stage 4 (King Cat),and it really has no noticeable turbo lag. I don’t recall ever hearing anyone complain about lag on the Sidewinder...

    Ladies Snowbike Wanted

E-start is a must. Most any 450 bike will work, better if they have a lighting coil for lights, etc. VERY expensive to build if you’re starting new, plan on 20K for a new bike, track kit and basic goodies (blanket, t-stat, etc). Recluse is nice but not necessary if she,s a bike rider, the stock...

    4 Stroke or nothing

Throttle control is huge. “Rolling” on the flipper will result in the sled climbing on top of the snow, instead of trenching in with the abundance of trackspeed available on a boosted 4 stroke. Realistically the biggest thing I’ve learned is you have to ride much father ahead of the sled, as the...

    4 Stroke or nothing

Personally I think some of the belt blowing you hear about is due to how it’s ridden. 0ne thing I can attest to is that you ride a 4S turbo differently then a 2S. Chopping the throttle (and conversely hammering it) makes for some significant shock loading on the belt. I’ve seen belts contact...
