As it is new for this year I believe only those involved in R&D and the spring preview of the 2016 sleds will have had the opportunity to try it. I am really interested too, but I will be waiting until I can ride a sled with one.
Thanks for the feedback. I have tried some Powderhounds in the past but I didn't care for the amount of flex the front of the ski had. I will probably go with the grippers if I can track down a good set.
So after last years road riding to the snow line I am thinking about replacing the skis on my 174 T3. I haven't had much experience with any aftermarket offerings but am considering a change due to the cost of DS3 replacements being nearly the same as aftermarket. What feedback is out there...
Generally there is a fairly large built in margin of safety with any rating. Will your truck turn into a pumpkin at rated capacity +1lb, no. IF you do happen to be weighed in BC you may have some trouble.
Hello, I am looking for a group to ride with Friday and Saturday and possibly Sunday this week. I am comfortable getting around most places in the mountains and using beacon, probe, shovel etc. My sled is a stock 2015 T3 so no wrenching or breakdowns should happen. I'll be checking this thread...
I had some issues with a 2014 XM on one ride when I damaged the right side panel behind the A-arm, snow getting in there hit the can and steamed up the whole engine compartment. The sled stumbled and lost electrical power occasionally but never completely died, a few times the throttle safety...
My previous sleds were a '13 154x and '14 154 freeride turbo. Both these sleds were a handful to get me where I wanted to go (fun though), and so I was not learning many of the skills needed to ride these places. Having the 174 allowed me to maintain a bit slower pace at first and practice...
Use plastic and duct tape etc. to fill the extra area for the first ride, once you know this is the setup you want buy new plastic and cut it exactly where you need.
I came very close to this happening to mine when one of the bolts holding the helix in the secondary snapped, a couple marks on the outer rim of the primary but nothing on the faces. Last week a friend had his primary grenade when a spare plug got loose, make sure everything inside your panels...
I should be picking up a new T3 next week, has anyone had any issues with the super clamps because of the new deeper keel on the ski? I am concerned because I was getting close to the hook extension limit with the DS2 skis on my freeride.
Thanks
Sometime early this morning my 2014 Interstate 19' enclosed trailer was stolen from Fort McMurray. Inside was a 2013 Summit X 154, black with white decals and black gripper skis. A 2014 Aerocharged Freeride 154 was also inside, cold air intake with prefilter sticking up on the exhaust side...
