For me, I would have to help, not a question even. Unless the danger for more slides was super high or there wasn't anyone to watch for any hangfire, I'd be activating a search. There isn't any way I could sit by and call for S&R despite how stupid the others actions would be. I have some avy...
We were a bit concerned about turning the Heli away, but absolutely couldn't support him going back there. He circled and circled hoping to get in then dropped on the road just to check with us and see if we had heard anything or thought they could land back there. They must have been called on...
We rode Silent on Saturday…the weather forecast for that elevation was calling for wind and snow with the heaviest moving in in the afternoon and heavy snow overnight. We planned on an early head out due to this…left around 330. At the trucks, the chopper put down right in front of us on the...
Amazing work so far fellow Snow and Mudders! Thank you!!!
Please keep the support…ie signatures coming. :D Please if you can, spread this to your sledder friends, let's get the numbers we need to make change. There are some very good, knowledgable and giving people pushing for power...
Agree…which is why we're doing this. To learn the who, what and why…sitting back on our asses does nothing, that I do know. Appreciate your support. And if you have anything to offer, clubs always looking for proactive people with ideas. :)
Rode Forster yesterday…quite settled out and heavy. Good in the trees as usual, heavy and windblown in the open. Trail was good, road out was getting rotten. Went from -4 in the valley to 0 at the staging area in at the am. +3 when we left. Didn't get to freezing level until the woodshed...
Agree. It very well could show us that we need these closures…which is what we want to see. Proof. We really don't have anything to lose and at least we aren't just sitting back, or bending over. :p
Appreciate your input jjack. The BCSF is responsible for a large portion of BC clubs and individual members and is in place to represent these parties when it comes to land use issues and anything else snowmobile related. So when things like this come down the pipe, we can not simply sit back...
As you're all more than aware the Gov't is continually taking more land for species closures or enforcing existing closures without any proof of snowmobilers actually harming or impacting caribou populations. It continues without any actual science or reports backing it. Just the government's...
We'll be heading up Forster on Sunday…if anyone needs a riding group. Think there's 5 of us Sunday…we'll be in the lot around 9-9:30. Can't miss me. :p
Glacier opens today…if anyone can get up to it. :) Hoping someone will break some trail to it today lol…it was too deep on Thursday to even...
You'll see some changes in the Windermere Club very soon. :) Maybe it's time it wasn't a private boys club. 3 peeps were recently charged for being on the Glacier, it's good to see that-first time I have. Locals are some of the worst, I hate to say.
Glacier check finds three disobeying rec...

Not sure, but check GSR they might rent radios??
Here's the forecast and summary posted last night on CAC. If you follow the CAC site you can keep track of not only the ratings, but the weather and impact it has on the snowpack. KNOW YOUR SNOWPACK, it's the first thing in avalanche safety...
Pretty much most places in the Rockies has been pounded by snow, then huge wind, now warm temps. which makes for a hard slab. We haven't had fresh for awhile, and everywhere is getting ridden out. This weekend, plan on sunscreen and Spring temps. forecasting above freezing for alpine elevations. :(
