Yes sir that’s the setup I’ll be running next trip QA70’s ordered, 39 Yamaha Helix, EPI Purple spring with a stiffer Dalton 50-133 primary spring. I’m also going to install Hi-Torq secondary rollers aswell. Should be very close and hopefully make the clutches happy and myself. 72mph is 2mph more...
Thank you, I was debating on picking up a heat gun to check and see. Never too late to go pickup a Sidewinder! 2019 model Blue/Yellow is a pretty nice unit!
I’d prefer warming up without a Hotboxed cabin for sure. I’m younger but I also have no problem asking someone politely to smoke it outside. A simple “hey bud, sign says outside” works usually.
If nothing is said it could likely become accepted and then the cabin will be constantly unusable...
Yep that was an issue I read about last year with the stock Helix/secondary. I swapped mine out early on even though the wear pattern on the helix where the roller contacts is even lengths/widths. And all 3 were contacting. I will however take the spring out and check for any binding of any kind...
I was and could bang the rev limiter all day anywhere on that hill I was feathering the top half so I didn’t. And I think adding more weight to lower rpm is where I’ll start simplest and easiest. I was at 9450 rpm when it’s not hitting. Feathering.
What do you think would be binding? Rollers? Spring?
2018’s had the new Yamaha rollers. I’m running an EPI Purple spring on 0-1 setting. I had the Dalton orange last season.
I’ll inspect the spring for binding marks it’s brand new 2 days on it.
I inspected them before I left on the trip. All rolled fine and no flat spots. 2018’s didn’t have the secondary roller issues that the 2017’s did. I’ll try what KaneDog suggested remove spring and move the secondary in my hands. See what it’s doing.
I do have a very stiff spring in the...
Top left picture, I believe the primary is the culprit. It revs to limiter very quickly. Will be adding QA70’s next trip and a new helix. And mess around some more day 1 of the trip.
Once the seats on and clutching is dialed I’ll be one happy Boosted 4Stroke guy. Love it!! So much fun to ride and the sound blasting up a climb is unlike anything else!
Cannot wait for Skinz seat for the finished Look. Stock seat is comfy for sure but big n bulky and has gotta go. End of December seems like forever now.
Well I returned the DTYA-1’s and went with the QA62’s and with the heavier snow about 1-2 feet depending on where you were I was bouncing rev limiter still. We did a bunch of pulls over SuperBowl testing all 3 sleds. Steep enough and long enough to watch speeds and rpm.
I ended up maxing them...
All sled decks except the Platty and 4 place we brought lots of parking and quite a few trucks today. 4’ feet on the cabin marker and 1-2 feet’ of powder to be had on an ok Base. Still tree tops and rocks around. It was a great 2 day trip. Nothing Broken.
1 more re-load and it will be awesome...
Let me know how it pulls, not sure where my clutching will end up with Weight, Springs, Helix’s but it will get dialed eventually with the Help from a couple great guys!
