I didn't see too many videos of the 872, so here are a couple of me doing some climbs at Yamafest this year. I don't know how to load videos so go to youtube and type in "Yamafest 2013 872 big bore" and "Yamafest 2013 872 big bore over sugar bowl". There's a decent rollover in one video. Enjoy.
No,no. I meant outgrow the 872! Haha. I'd like a turbo sled some day but this sled is more than enough right now. I have the nextech aluminum monoshock skid and it really keeps the skies down. The only time my skies are in the air is when I'm cresting a climb. Nice looking sled by the way.
We did all of our sledding on Sunday which was nice and sunny. I think any 180-ish horsepower sled with a good skid and 174 track is more than enough for most guys. I'll be riding this sled for a few years till I outgrow it. That 880 will be a ripper for sure. Can't wait till next year.
I was dissapointed when I put the bigbore in, I just couldn't get power. It seemed like it was missing any top end power. I took it to sled shed because I thought it was clutching. They set the clutching up for me and it still wouldn't rev past 7000 rpm. Al told me it was absolutely the...
I went to Revelstoke for Yamafest and got my valves done at Sledshed. I am absolutely getting the air intake for next year. Those guys know their stuff! I have an 872 with 174x3 and that engine spins that track really well. I picked up about 8-12 mph track speed over stock 800 with the same...
I have a 2010 summit and my brother has a 2013. I think the xm style is nicer than mine and looks slimmer. If your building a new sled, I think it should have new styling, and not look like an 08-12. Just my opinion. I guess it's what you like best. Hopefully your going to Yamafest and I...
I put on a 174x3 on a stock 2010 800r and it climbed a lot better than when it was a 163x2.5. I had 160/350 primary spring and DJ QR-11 secondary but had to go from 441 ramps to 417.
Take two 10 mm wrenches with you on your next ride. Take it out, it takes two minutes. If you like it out, leave it out. If it's too tippy, put it back in. I prefer it out, but it's up to you how you like it, no one else.
