canuck5 your sidewinder must have been the dud of the group ? My 2020 hardcore doesn’t even come close in the deep stuff as my old sidewinder did. To the point where I am buying another sidewinder and installing an alpha kit. Maybe your clutching was junk???
this one has a cr intake, hood and exhaust and a light weight battery. So the weight is closer to the 850 turbo than you would think. The suspension is lighter as well. With the right clutching you don’t blow belts.
After running turbo sleds for the last 10 years the 850 feels lacklustre. The alpha winder handles like no other four stroke and is probably within 50-60lb of the 850. Way more reliable as well. The alpha winder put a huge grin on my face for the whole time I was on it. The 850 not so much...
After riding a 165” 270 sidewinder with the alpha skid and the 850 turbo in the same day my choice would be to buy a used winder and put the alpha skid in. What a blast that thing was.
Re: Belt For Turbo Yamaha
did you change the gearing ? 2014 came geared high bc they were converted short track models. What springs, weights, and helix are you running ?
my 2020 did this. I added more coolant and it was good. Even though it was showing correct on the bottle. It’s been good ever since. I added ski scratchers and haven’t used em since.
