    baofeng picking up helis or?

Well, that might explain it, but I am in Sicamous, not PG.. Wasn't me that picked that Freq. A farmer friend from Ab uses that Freq. And I do belive it was doing the same thing when we were on FRS7 and there was helis near by.

    Ice storm tunnel scratchers

Ski scratchers suck if thats all you have. They only help lube the tips of the rails really. They do not throw snow into the track that then gets flung around and into tunnel where it can cool sled. Ya gotta run a skid set too with the ski ones.

so i have to ask....why dont some people run tarps...?

I switched brands this year. I'm broke. I can't afford a $450+tax tarp. And I have a deck in my 1/2 box and I haul my sled in it too. That's how broke I am. But hey. Gotta fuel the passion and have priorities.

800 Axys really hot on the trip

What is too hot? Mine always 95-100F in snow, and when loose snow on trail. But if its icy, like Blue Lake was yesterday in the mid part of trail. She heats up to like 150-160F with scratchers. Cools down soon as the fluffy snow is found.

What is very interesting is how some people just assume others knowledge and expertise, or lack thereof, and just beatdown with candid remarks.

Best deep powder sled in the world, prove me wrong.

A better analogy for sleds is Airplanes or boats thrust. It's thrust, not traction, when climbing. Thrust =weight of snow(water or air)*velocity. You can either throw more weight at same speed, but will only attain slightly less than that speed. Or you can throw less snow at an...
