This is a big one! There is only so much "research" a new sledder can do in terms of having the right sled, gear, education etc. But gaining the experience on the sled, and how to navigate through the back country takes time and having riding buddies that are willing to ride in easier terrain...
What are your guys thoughts on FXR boots? I had a pair 5 years ago and threw them out after one ride. Was waiting until the sled show to pick up a new pair but found these on Facebook for $175 only worn once:
Possibly... I got the replacement clearance lights from Greggs and I couldnt find the exact same lights (had clear lens on them and had to buy red and orange lens), but I'm pretty sure they were by the same make. None the less I'm not too mad about spending $15 and 30 minutes of my time putting...
I bought a used deck a few years ago and have used it for 2 full seasons now. Not sure if the few issues I've seen were from new, or previous owner.
- Replaced 3 clearance lights. Used steel hardware on aluminum deck, had to cut them all off and drill new mounting holes
- Under deck light was...
Last year was the 5th season on my boots, and they were starting to get a little damp at the end of the day. For $80 at the snow show a few years ago, I'm not mad about it lol
Jason out of Sherwood Park might have red ones. I've dealt with him a few times and is awesome. Shipped me some parts to PG same day. He should have a few ads on Edmonton Kijiji if you want to check but his number is 780-913-2675
Are you from PG? What are you looking to get out of them?
Haven't dropped the big bucks on large Klim or Motorfist gloves, but I've ran two pairs of cheaper Klim gloves (Klimate I believe) and they were garbage. For a lighter pair, I have been pretty happy with these Polaris technical gloves. They stay dry if you stay unstuck haha
I personally love the 155. It has way more of a "fun factor" than a 163.
With only planning one doing 1 trip out West I'd definitely lean towards the shorter lengths. If you happened to hit snow in Vale, yes the 163s are "easier" and nicer to ride, but for the 2-3 days you'd spend out there a...
Interesting note on the clutching. Was there a huge improvement this year? Rode a 18 Cat last season didn't think it was even close to Polaris clutching.
One comment on the durability as well, the Cat tunnels seem to be weaker than a pop can lol
Group of 4 of us probably heading up. Not sure if Mcbride, or Blue yet.. Im thinking with the cold temps there should be lots of snow left at Renshaw next weekend...
