How so? I picked up a 509 helmet last season and like it better than my old Troy Lee.
Good vents, light and fits different brands of goggles like Smith and Oakley.

They recently got a lot lighter, they were very heavy before that. The chin fits very narrow and if you have a wider face cuts you up next to the eyes when you take it on and off. Quality wise they seem disposable every 2 or 3 seasons.
I have a 509 Carbon Fibre I would disagree that they are disposable helmets.....

You want a light helmet get a Suomy Mr.Jump helmet. I don’t think they come any lighter.

I looked them for a bit… not a lot of places carry them. I think they may have been the standard a bit ago, but there’s a few lighter and nicer for the same price range.

I have the gmax version of that. No need for a heated lense. The 2layer thermal lense works great untill -30.What about something like this with a heated visor…

I dont understand guys paying 500 for a lid and untold more for goggles. I just shut my lid and i can still see way better . And if it gets really nasty out goggles can be worn and still close the visor ,for two layers of fog ice before needing to stop. Just leave the visor cracked and set on the cluster and generally engine heat clears it shortly.

Yes Suomy and Airoh used to be leading the lightweight charge but others have finally decided to catch up.
