I just read an article that salmon sharks frequent the waters of Tofino however they have not much interest in humans but in July there was a sighting of a 4 meter shark by a surfer that showed interest in the surfer and looked like a great white. Whites can be found all along the pacific coast from Mexico to Alaska and in Hawaiian waters experts say but more prevalent in southern waters near Guadalupe and California. So there is still hope lol
