Heads up to all riding the week of January 19 to 24. The cabin will have limited public access for a couple of days as we rip off the old roof and replace with new, holes cut for new door and window. Also the groomer may be running some odd times so check with the collector each morning as I will keep him informed.
We will be up there all week so if you want to stop in and pound a few nails we will take the help for sure.
The estimated days for cabin closure is Monday 19(jacking old cabin up), Thursday and Friday 22 and 23(rip old roof off, new on).
Any questions call me at the number below.
And on Monday the 12 will be flying material to the cabin so if you could keep your sleds away from the cabin it would be helpful, flagging should be in place.
Thanks Barry

Re: Renshaw Cabin Extention

Thanks to all for your hard and continued work...
We all appreciate it very much to be able to stop by a cabin to warm up and get out of the cold.
Big Thanks to your Barry, Rod and groomer crew for keeping snowmobiling alive and well in McBride. You guys put in countless hours to make our riding experience great.
Hope you get the help you need to fix up the cabin.

Will you still be building on the Saturday? We will be there and are definitely in to give some time out of our riding day to help pound some nails!

The guys are hoping to be finished by Saturday, but we will have to see how things go. There may be some finishing touches to do. Supposed to snow all week, and they are not sure if that will slow them down or not. Any help will be greatly appreciated - thank you.

Re: Renshaw Cabin Extention

Monday January 19, Day 1

- Took off front deck
- Jacked up existing cabin, and leveled, No one lost any fingers today, the cabin had a mind of its own and wanted to take off on multiple occasions.
- Installed beams under cabin, well most of them, one more to finish.

It was dumping all the way up to the cabin and by the time we got up there we had to spend a lot of time shoveling snow that was already cleaned yesterday. I sure wish people could go to the bathroom a little further away from the cabin, not to nice to work in when its right off the deck. Do people pee in there backyard from there deck, strange that this happens at a public cabin. The building materials were covered in approximately 8" of snow and by the time we left there there was close to 16" new fresh stuff, and it was coming down hard when we were leaving. Had to keep wiping our goggles, need wipers for those.

Day 2 - Tuesday January 20, 2015

- Completed the foundation and support beams
- All leveled up with and ready to start the floor system

The new addition will be out the side of the cabin 20 x 20, the door will be on the side with a 8 x 20 deck. The roof will be facing the other direction and will be a 8 /12 pitch. The cabin is currently still closed. There are two new heaters as well and they work swell.
Tons of snow at the top today. Reports of up two a solid 2' power, awesome conditions and the trail is awesome.
Had to even mark the lumber so it doesn't dissapear under all the snow

Day 3 - January 21, 2015

- Floor joists installed to 20 x 20 addition
- Insulated floor
- Installed floor sheathing
- Walls laid out
- Front of old roof removed.

Lots of snow shoveling required. We went sledding this day while the hired help, Barry and Rob worked on the cabin. The snow was really slowing progress down.

Everyone's a expert right? Lol
Looks like you should have salvaged windows and doors and burnt the old one and started from scratch?
Not much left of the old one.
A lot of work and looks great.
Hats off to all involved for all your efforts .
