as the title say's I'm thinking of building a sled deck to fit in my Chev 04 crewcab shortbox d-max, don't feel like spending the money on a new alluninum deck.

I'm looking for pictures of some decks out there (on the ground not in the truck) , and if anyone has built thier own. I need some ideas.

I have some ideas in my head and am trying to sort things out before I haul out my chop saw and plasma cutter.

I'm going to build it out of 1inch steel tubing with 3/4" plywood top, with 4' wide ramp.

Here's a few pics of a deck we built a few years back. Puck board could of used a bit more work but would sit flat in the winter just pucker in the summer heat. Best feature is the two side ramp one for quads and the other for sleds

nice job, built out of Aluninum.

I don't have an aluninum spoolgun for my mig, nor the AC tig modual for my welder. so it will have to be steel. Weight is not a real issue b/c steel is stronger than aluninum so smaller peices can be used, and it is going in my chev HD 2500 shortbox

This gives me Ideas.

Hey Keng, no I don't have any plans left, it was a design and go deal. The deck was tied down by turn buckles from the tabs welded to the deck and attached to the factory hold downs in the box. Or the outside tabs could of been used if the truck had camper bars to tie down to.

Here's pics of another deck we built and a pic of the way she's tied down. The sled deck was the same idea.

nice work. I might have a deck this week im buying and converting from a long box to short box. Its a good deck for the price. expanadble sides, 12' ramp, lights, superclamps, etc. Now i just need to do some aluminum welding and im good to go for the chritmas holidays.
