On Friday, I killed my little Honda pusher mower. A couple of rocks, and my favorite steel sprinkler(that one will be hard to replace), Bent the crank, and output shaft. For me.....it's not worth fixing, or dropping a new motor in.

Typically, it takes me 1.5 hrs, to cut the grass. not including weed wacking. So I was looking at used ride em mowers, and then I came across this.

Lawn Tractors | Canadian Tire

Does, or has, anyone have one. I'm looking at the first one for $1200. And looking to buy this week. Good or bad would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

There a decent little unit for the type of work your looking for.

John Deere lawn tractors are worth it. Yes they are more $$$$ but you will buy 2 Canadian Tire tractors over time before you have any issues with a JD. Also try to buy true JD - not JD Sabre or JD Home Depot.

Cheers

don't buy green, get a kabota diesel zero turn, best on the market. cuts grass at 10 mph, 60 " swath should take all of 10 minutes from start to finish and put away= more time for  and playboy honey's:d

I'm thinking he doesn't want to spend 3-4-5-6-thousand dollars to mow a yard he can do with a push mower in 1.5 hours....

the little yard works will work just fine.... mine is a little weed-eater made by husqvarna 13.5 hp, has a snow blower attachment, wheel weights ect.... nice little machine. not enough for my uses, I need to upgrade but I have about 1.5 acres of uneaven lawn to look after.... mine with a push mower would take about 8 hours....

I would however recommend spending the extra $300 and bumping up to the 15.5 with the 42" deck. mine doesn't have guide wheels on the mowing deck and experience has taught me this is a must... I've bottomed out my blades numerous times.....

Just my 2 cents

Thanks   :d

I did look at both of these. That's kinda why, I was thinking new. I was just in Home Depot, and they Have a "Ariens" 18hp, with a 42" deck for $1200. or a 20hp w/42 deck, for $1400. I think I'll go with the 18hp.

I have a very uneven .5 acre to cut. I would have never thought about the guide wheels. Thanks

We have a Yardman, made by MTD same as this one. Had it for 5 years now had minor issues until we learnt how to do some adjusting...it's reliable and gets the grass cut! Had connections to buy this one or we would probably have a JD. But for the $$ this one you're lookin' at sounds good. :wtg:

Ours starts and runs good, mows well... we have a utility trailer that we haul heavy chit with it all the time . The deck is relatively easy to remove, takes a couple times to get er figured (that's second hand info, I've never done it )
The 38" deck will be good if you have a smaller-medium yard, ours is a 42" and wouldn't want less...pretty big yard.

I just walked in from mowing...it's always a good day when I don't roll 'er  :D

you are already doing a fine job with that now, my son.:d

the lawn tractor will do the job but what a let down, maybe one of those beer fridges mounted up front would relieve the boredom of the roundy round.
