Does someone in Edmonton have a ski-doo mag/flywheel puller I could borrow?

Part number 529035547 and part # 420876081

SeaDoo Puller 529035547

SeaDoo Flywheel Holder 420876081

I tried a regular flywheel puller and it just wouldn't pull it off I put a lot of muscle into it.I have a socket a breaker bar on the clutch side holding it so nothing moves. I'm scared i'm going to twist the crank so I better use the proper tool

did you get the nut off?

if you have one of those 3 finger pullers with bolts that you thrraed in that will work. get it nice and tight then apply a bit of heat to the center. and stand back sometiems it will fly accross the room

no you cant not with a heat gun. the mag doesnt even contact the flywheel. its gets way hotter in there than any heat gun applied for a few seconds

Go to Princess auto, they have a puller kit that works awsome for about$45.00, it comes in a hard red plastic case.

Yep, I use a harmonic balancer puller from Princess Auto all the time. DO NOT use the $10 pullers, they will just break (I broke three of them before I finally spent the extra $$ to buy the $40 one). Put some tension on it and let it sit overnight, then heat it up around the shaft slightly so it expands along the contact patch of the shaft and then it will usually pop right off. You can't be afraid to put some torque on it, mine usually needs a 24" breaker bar on the 28MM socket

DO NOT screw the bolts into the flywheel too far or you will hit the wire packs on the stator behind it and peel the coating off, then you will have to have your stator re-wound. Found that one out the hard way years ago. 1/2" is good.

You can also rent for free from canadian tire, you pay a few dollars first and when you bring back you get your money back.

I got the $10 balancer puller didn't last long ripped the threads out the middle of it went to Partsource got a good one from there on the tool loaner program still nothing. Going to go try it again with maybe a little bit on heat should fly accross the room to much crap in the way to do that. got the exhaust off working through the access holes behind the can is not fun.

Doing all this because the recoil gernaded the metal clip for the rewind is missing and I think it is stuck to the mag

Tried the heat a steady pressure with a snipe ripped 1 bolt out and snapped another off. luckily it snapped off with I could get it out.....when I get it off gotto retap 1.

Calling around to see if anyone has any in stock......don't you love the pleasent Martin parts staff I have the part numbers I just need to know if they have in stock and still I get a bunch of F****** grief

well no in edmonton or gibbons has it. Guy at gibbons was the best he said it is 10X easier with the BRP puller. He said in their shop they tried with a balancer puller and it doesn't work very well comparered to the brp one

If no one has one by monday I'm going to order one

So whats different about the brp puller, ive always used the harmonic pullers and they work for me, never worked on the rev style chassis though. When you get it post some pics of it on here so we can see the differnce.

OK I think I have a bigger problem. the people I talked to said I need this part to get it off

529035547.jpg

The problem is when you look at the pic there is outside threads on the bottom piece.....my flywheel does not have any threads.

Has anyone taken the flywheel off an 800R engine?????

Guess I will phone specialty tomorrow

The other piece bolts to the flywheel on the studs that hold on the starter cup.
That's how it's done on my 1969 399 nordic.

Thanks for the awesome offer Blair but after my Dodge makes a couple trips to RD I would be at the same price as to buy one. Lunch time I am going to run down and order 1 so I have one here to lend out
