I’m starting to make some progress on my summer project now.

IMG_4525.jpg

This is the starting point. The plan is to powder coat a lot of the aluminum parts to dress them up. I’m also planning on installing a SLP intake kit, SLP single pipe, and a Power Commander 3 with fuel mapping from Dynotech.

I got the sled stripped down and I’m starting to polish the tunnel. I’m using a polishing kit I got from Princess Auto. The kit comes with various sizes and types of buffing wheels and a couple different polishing compounds.

I finished installing Holz Racing foot and shock tower vents.

Today I picked up the first batch of parts from getting powder coated. I’m still waiting for one more spindle and the A-arms. Once I finish polishing the tunnel I can start to put things back together.

I’ll post more pictures as I get things done.

Actually you’ll probably beat me anyway since I’m still waiting on some parts. I cant seem to find replacement sliders. I know it’s the middle of June but someone has got to have some in stock. I guess I’ll have to try the specialty shops like MM.

GC Custom Metals on the south east end of town did the coating. $180 for 21 parts. I’m not sure I’ll use them again. There was a problem with one of my spindles. It’s getting repaired, but the guy there says that us enthusiast guys are too picky about the quality of the coating. It was a really odd conversation. I guess they would rather stick with industrial work.

I finished polishing the tunnel today, and I started reinstalling some parts. I’m really happy with the way things have turned out so far. I should get the A-arms back early next week.

I got the A-arms on today. This weekend I should get everything back together, except for installing the rear skid. I still need to find some new sliders.

Any color you pretty much want, got my black ones from these guys....

Dirt cheap too, ordered 4 so I would have some backups, I think they were only 15.** for them, and fast shipping

Yah baby! I wasn’t sure at first how the white would turn out, but I like it! A little careful removal of the coating where the ball joint slides into the spindle, and everything fit together without too much effort. What I removed is covered by the ball joint, so you can’t tell that there was ever a problem. My goal is to have new sliders by next weekend so that I can finish getting the sled back together, and take the final photo.

I know exactly what your talking about. If it had an Arctic Cat logo on the side, that would be special.:d
