I need some insight from two stroke/carb experts. I have a 93 Kitty. It starts OK on choke and will idle and run fine for about 10 minutes after which whenever the throttle is applied it just bogs especially if you just grab full throttle from idle. I've been doing some research and it sounds like there is a host of possibilities but I'm hoping you wise two stroke mechanics might be able to help me narrow down the problem a little faster.
I'm going to start by cleaning the carb, but am open to all suggestions/questions on where I should be focusing my efforts.
I did notice on really odd thing. When I was playing with it yesterday I got to thinking it was the governor. By the way how does that thing physically work? Anyways, I turned the arm on the governor shaft so that it would turn as much as possible before activating the governor. This actually affected the idle which now was so high that the clutch was engaging at idle. It sure revved good though. Then I did the opposite, so that the governor would come on really quickly. Then it wouldn't idle at all. I thought the governor had nothing to do with idle, but....?
