anyone done the sld mod on a 850

so i have to do the sld mod since i put the 30's on and looking at the parts finch i was wondering which part gets modded the compensator shaft or the one on the output shaft. mine is really bad can hardly move coming out of mud holes.

Well I will post this just in case someone searches it. The kit comes with one large shim that goes in the compensator to pretty well eliminate that and then you add a large shim inside the clutch pack so it can't slip as easy. Pretty straight forward job. And the instructions from quad shop customs are good.

On the arctic cat 1000's we have an SLD in the nose come of our differential, all I did was take the clutch pack and grind 3 groves equal spaces apart and then tig welded the grooves at like 200amp then filed the weld until I could slip it back into the drum. I don't know how your SLD is set up but if your shims ever stop working that's another option.
