Go somewhere that is unmanaged. After riding those trails you would be paying $30 for the groomed trail.
Every year we have this discussion.
Maybe the fee should be $2500 and They could pave the trail all the way up and we could drive our trucks up to the top.
If you ride only a few times all year whats the extra five going to cost you?????? $100 bucks thats 20 times up the trail. 10 two day weekends of riding. Put it all in perspective if you ride a few times pay up. If you ride lots by a seasonal. Fack I give them extra sometimes just to help. I just wait for the day they cant fight for our rights or cant fuel the groomer, then the bitching will start that these places we ride dont want us to come.

You're missing the point, id pay $30 happily if they just groomed the thing more. And if it was free and not groomed i wouldnt give two shits. We'd just be back to kakwa lake style. Paying and nothing groomed simply feels like a rip off regardless of the point you try to make. I am also giving and like to help, but i like to see results. The worse is when i pay the first day and its not groomed, ok whatever. Then pay the second and still not groomed. That makes me wonder where my money goes, and realize why other guys take cutlines around the booths.

Bingo! No problem paying 30 if it is groomed. If not ill keep my cash for the chiropractor.

I know the guys that groom and last year they had problems with mother nature, conditions were just to warm. They would have done more harm to the trail if they tried to groom it, that being said there was days when they didn't charge because of this. The variables to a smooth trail shouldn't be pointed just to the groomer, if the trail is perfect smooth I ask just one question. How do you ride on a smooth trail? I'm no hero either but you just cant groom everyday plain simple period. Your twenty five dollars wont even get the groomer off the trailer i'm guessing. I wish it was that simple that when the trail was rough they would smooth it out for the next day but it will not happen that way ever. I too went up that same thirty kms many times last year I think it was something like 25 times. I only see it smooth a few times and it wasn't because they didn't run the groomer. My story is do you like to sled or not and if you want to use McBride riding areas the price is $25 dollars/day. I may be wrong and off the mark and if I am I can live with that but what other areas provide perfect smooth trails ALL the time. Just so people know I have no connection to McBride snowmobile club other than I know many members of that club and support their efforts and appreciate what they do for us.

I am happy to support them too and that does make sense. Do you know the cost of the yearly pass this year?

I put more blame on the douchebags who dig up and wreck the nicely groomed trails than the groomer.... Why does everyone feel the need to pin it out of every corner and wait until the last minute to slow for the corners...

X3.

It wouldn't make all the difference but if guys gave a s#%~ they would ride the trail right, not slow but not expecting the groomer to fix there throttle fingers for all 33 km. look at back country trails that locals make and ride ( much less traffic but..), They stay rideable ALL year and that's because they ride them "right". mcbride is one of the best riding areas around but I guess there comes a point when there's just to many people trying to ride one trail. To bad they closed the good parts of door river :(

IMAO

I know someone is going to make a REVY traffic comment.......

Yes well those guy that seem to go out to destroy the trail are either ignorant or Dumb.
We showed up Late one day(9ish) after the trail had been groomed, And it was wrecked already. That being said the guy at the booth told us the groomer got off the road at 4am and guys where unloading as he rolled in the lot.

Welcome. Check out November conditions thread for more info. The season here is just beginning and we are waiting for a bit more snow before our groomers can start up. There will be a group of locals going up Renshaw on Saturday and they promised to post some pictures and give us a report. We have three groomed trails - Belle, Lucille and Renshaw with Belle being the easiest and Renshaw being by far the largest riding area in BC. There are a few brochures available and if you wish I can mail you some info. Just send me a private message with your mailing address and I will be happy to send them to you.
