They've been talking about Syria on the news for the last 3 weeks. Theres a lot of fighting between the government and the people. They had footage the other day of police throwing massive rocks onto a group of rioters.

They keep getting deeper and deeper, I honestly don't think the US can afford to wage any more wars....

no oil there so US wont be going in. If anyone should be it would be the UN to stop any atrocities against civilians at the hand of the government. Ideally though the Arab league should handle this and control one of their own.

And without USA forces ,the Dictators are shakin in there boots i bet............

The US plight : If you go in it`s for "oil",if you don`t, you let innocents get slaughtered.......... For Example : When the MUSLIMS were getting exterminated in Serbia it was GREAT the USA stopped the serbs and stopped the nonsense. Now when the shoe is on the other foot the USA hates muslims............etc etc .
It`s a thankless job, being the worlds policemen.Obama is realizing no you can`t sit down and talk rationaly to murderers like aminejad, and the likes. Secondly ,he is beginning to understand there are bad MF ers out there. They slaughter there own people, and would do the same to us if circumstances permitted, in a heart beat.

Correction, it was NATO that stopped the serbs which involved US forces, European and Canadian as well. But I agree it is a thankless job so that is why I think for once the US should step back and let their own deal with it. Humanity is cruel and the US cannot be every where. If anyone, it should be a joint effort by the UN which unfortunately seems weak. On another note, history is very embedded in these societies, and no guns from an outsider will effluence their beliefs hence the reason I think the Arab League needs to grab the bull by its horns and deal with it. A perfect example of that is what happened today in Iraq. US guns left and what do we have...... more large scale suicide bombers. :(

My point is with out the USA , NATO,UN, ETC. does jack crap..................We can`t keep 15 fighters in the air !! When we need new ones ,alot of the voters bitch ....LOL ,then the same people say let NATO / UN do it !!
If you want to play with the big boys ,you have to PAY with the big boys.
Unlike when the libs sold off most of our military to pay for the money they stole out of this country, Harper has made it a priority to replace it. With the sacrifice we have made around the world lately, Canada is well respected and can be counted on to hold up it`s end of the deal !!! AS a canadian that makes me very proud..................

it's a sensitive area that if NATO intervenes it may drag other "on the fence" arab countries in and solidify hate towards the west. NATO is doing the right thing by stayin the fawk out of it.
