I'm looking for RV parks that stay open in the winter close to sledding areas. Preferably, sites with heated washrooms/showers so I do not have to use the holding tanks on the trailer.

Revy has the "Smokey Bear Camp Ground Resort"; anyone stayed here?

The CNP has the "Lost Lemon" Resort in Blairmore; anyone stayed here?

Any others out there?

Anyone else out there combining camping and sledding? Are you using holding tanks; if so how do you keep them from freezing?

Thanks,

Shawn.

Let us know what you find out.... Do you have a trailer made for winter camping?

Saw some guys last year set up in the Allen Creek, parking lot... I like the B&B's myself.

I dont know of any camp grounds that stay open , but there are some that allow you to stay in local sites all over alta , up till this year i had used a toy hauler in the winter , which i have had all the lines heat traced and the tanks all have heat pads on them and i have never froze , i take my toys and i just park in the bush and ride , i come back and ive got my hotel on wheels,, Which as well im selling so i can get a fifth wheel one , so if you know anyone looking i got one to sell

polar sledhead,

I just found out about the heated pads for the tanks; I'll have to see about getting one installed on the fresh water tank. I'm planning on dumping some RV antifreeze in the other two tanks to keep them from freezing. Any other hits on winter camping. Do you leave a genset running while your gone sleddin to keep your tanks warm or let the tank pads run off of the batteries?

My water lines are not heat traced but they are all on the interior so should be good while the furnace & hot water tank are on.

Thanks,

Shawn
