Ok i have been sleding since i was born. I have never rode the center ditch on a divided hwy. I live at lake isle 45 mins west and during my drives back and forth to the city i see the middle of the hwy is tracked out. We arent allowed to sled in any ditch pretty much. The cops turn a blind eye for the most part when they see us all in the ditches on our sleds. then from lake eden to spruce grove the center ditch is pounded. If you live in that area you know how fragile quading and sleding is there. Most acerage neighborhoods have banned it totally. Neighbor hood by neighbor hood they vote to ban off hwy vehicles. So one day around christmas its snowing like crazy and the hwys are really icy, vehicles are bumper to bumper and two people on sleds are in the middle swirving back and forth towards christmas travelers( nitro and a cat) who are already white knuckled from the bad roads. We need to use our heads people. If you know these types of sledders maybe pass it on that this isnt helping to keep us riding. One day we will sit with the younger people and tell them how we had sleds and rode right from our homes, Even to a gas station to fill up if we behaved in the towns. That day is coming ever closer. Please tell your friends if they do these types of things not to. Brazeau county has a total ban, It is now illegal to cross any township or range road in the entire county. An oil town full of sledders and quaders is now petitioning to reverse the new law. good luck with that. They dont often reverse laws they strenthen them.
