Will here goes my rant or crying in my beer:violin: After watching the news last night and seeing the dump of snow they are getting down east, I started to think it is looking like it is shaping up to be another snow drought year for 07/08 from the Red Deer area south to the U.S. Border, I don't know what the climatologists where smoking at Environment Canada "saying this is going to be one of the coldest and snowyist winters in fifteen years from coast to coast". Looks like their prediction has missed Southern Alberta. There is snow to the east, snow to the west, snow to the north and snow to the south (U.S. States) and what do we have in Southern Alberta?? Nadda!!! If this shapes up to be another snowless year it will be about four years since we have had any decent snow in Southern Alberta for riding. This is getting very discouraging:sadbanana: Luckily we can load up and drive to B.C. but after about six or eight trips it starts to get expensive and worse is to find the time. Well I just had to get this off my chest but there is one bright light, I get to spend Christmas in the Carrabian hopefully there will be a dump of snow to come home to!!!!

Happy Sledden and Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Finding Hilliard is like finding Bigfoot. You have to know where to look or you'll spend days wandering aimlessly, lol. Heck even Star & St. Michael are on maps! lol

Billy Boy... I feel for Ya. Winter with out snow is kind of like a BBQ with out meat!?? Sorry its suppertime and I'm still working, sort of. Anyhow, it is bizzare how Southern AB has been neglected by old man winter for so many years. Years ago, we used to ride around Sylvan Lake (my parents have a cabin there) and have 2.5 feet of snow around Christmas??

I think that the lack of snow were you are has something to with the fact that Calgary is so close. We all know that anything around Calgary suffers to some degree. It's kind of like Alberta's Black Hole?

We go to CNP, Elkford, Corbin and Golden quite a bit and you are usually guaranteed good snow but I sure miss riden ouit west of Caroline, Sundre area. In the old days (not that long ago) you could load up and be out at a staging area within a hour or two and be guaranteed good snow and great riden conditions. I think I have rode out there only two times in the last four years, and the snow conditions were not that great. I can remember back in the 70's goin out with the 76 Polaris TX F/A and there would be waist deep snow and you would be spending a good part of the day stuck!! Ah the good old days:) Maybe we will yet be blessed during the 07/08 riden season with a good dump of snow in the south central foothills area:snow: but in the mean time lookout B.C. here we come:Snowmobile1:

Yeah, it's pretty good here...as i said about 10 miles east. But, it's all farmland and you have to kind of know your way around to get through the fields. I'm not sure what the trail system by elk island sales will be like?
