All I'm asking for is a yearly trail pass Without being a member if I don't have to.

Sooooo......what's the difference. A membership "IS" a yearly trail pass. Buy one and don't participate in the club. No big deal.

But I think what you're trying not to say is you want a yearly trail pass "cheaper" by not being a club member. If that's the case.....go somewhere else and ride bumps!

And as far as this statement goes..... "I just think they fight for areas they want and could care less about the rest of the areas." If Club's were.....Awww never mind. I'm done with you!

buy the dammmmm pass already it is a measley $80, i know i'm buying one, i'm tired of riding whooped out groomed trails because someone won't buy a pass to help pay the gas for the groomer. you buying a pass gives you a say in the clubs direction, in land issues etc, etc. or you can never show up for a meeting and everything will keep going on.

buy the pass. enjoy the new cabin.

A one day adult lift ticket pass at Fernie Alpine Resort is $89.60 with tax.

I don't get the peeps that bitch about paying $80 for a season Pass/membership so they can ride a fairly smooth trail on the way to the alpine...I just don't get it...

Could you give the Contact person for the Landowner and phone number so i could ask about there willingness to lay charges against snowmibilers who wish an option of which clubs to belong to.

Care to elaborate on what the problem is?

There must be some major issue I’m not aware of?

I don't think that is necessary at this point in time. I have told you the facts. You have three choices if you want to ride trails managed by the FSA: (1) buy an FSA membership for $80 and no trail pass to purchase or (2) or buy a membership from another club and buy a daily trail pass for $10/day or (3) buy no membership and buy a $10/day trail pass.

Quite simple in my mind.

just curious how much money do you have invested in a truck, sled and riding gear

Is candor in the snowmobile business now because I thought you were a non profit organization? if so maybe they would like there share of the money of trail passes.but that might open them up to legality. All I'm asking for is a yearly trail pass Without being a member if I don't have to.

I'm curious as to why your so against being a member. You will be getting exactly what you want but your against it still. You don't have to attend meetings or anything. It will help the club by raising the number of members a little bit and you will get what you want.. Win-win imo

Holy Jeebus Jvl buy the friggin pass! 80 dollars is nothing in the sledding world and there is absolutely no down side? Use a made up name if you want just help pay for the groomer fuel.

Or ride one of the millions of other non club maintained areas around the East Kootenays.

I really find these questions that Jvl and T333s are asking very unusual and sorry but fn stupid?? Almost like they are fishing for details, snooping around or something! Wanting a phone number to the land owner?? Come on? I was approached last year at the cabin from a "so called" another club coming to Fernie/Jaffry and was asked if I would support them instead of the current club? I talked to Doug(Ferniesnow) about this also. I would not even respond anymore to these two as my gut says they are up to no good? Just my feeling and 2cents!

I think you are correct in your assessment. I PM'd T333...I don't expect to hear back from him/her.

Sounds like FSA is the Bully in the Sand Box.
Elkford Snowmobile Association | Elkford Trails

I belong to both clubs and there is quite a difference in infrastructure with the two clubs. All I will say is that Fernie is grooming 3 times/week this year and Elkford will probably groom once every 3 weeks. Both have great riding areas and both are great club to belong to.

I just looked on line a lift pass at the ski hill is $79.95 for a full day, for only 5 cents more you can have groomed trails all season. I don't believe $10 a day or $80 a season is a lot of money to pay, when we spend over $12,000.00 for a new sled. We only rode Fernie / Corbin 3 days last year and we bought a memberships, in my mind it was worth every dime!
I believe it is very important to support the clubs and associations that work so hard to keep access to the back country.
I would also like to thank all the volunteers for all their hard work, and usually forgotten about.
Just my thought!
PS. Buy a pass!

So funny thing is I went to buy membership at the GearHub like you said and they don't sell them at this time. They said that they're not selling them at this time because there's too much going on right now with the other club trying to start up. So it sounds to me, other people out there ( off this site) have questions about buying a membership. It's too bad because I always found this site good for sled problems and info when I needed it.

I had the idea from the get-go. I only provided the facts and was not antagonistic. They have some choices to make.

just exactly what are you trying to do, seems as it is there are limited funds for one club, u want to start a second and have them both fold? i guess in some way u may win but sledders in general will lose.

I told you I went to go and get a membership and have nothing to do with the club. But now you think I have a conspiracy to fold the clubs. that really makes people want to become members. also to the guy or girl that keeps telling me the prices at fernie alpine resort, which is irrelevant but, when I buy a seasons pass I'm not a member I would just have a seasons pass.
