I think I am going to get him a new computer, but thats really only because I cannot think of anything else.

Maybe beer of the month club?

You have a lucky dad! Does he already have a computer and just need an upgrade? If not you had better include some training in the package...

I hear ya, last summer my dad got his first computer. Month ago i taught him over the phone how to reply to a thread on a dodge forum. Last night i showed him how to create a thread!
Im toying with the idea of a new computer too, the one he got was ANCIENT!!!

Whats he into? Mechanics? Cars? Business? Bank robber? retired traveler?

He is more of an outdoorsman. I have already got him just about everything I can think of in that department though. Last year was a gps which he kind of knows how to use now.

His computer is about 3 or 4 years old.

Hunting knife? One of them realy fancy bright expensive flash lights? Maps for his GPS? Gun case or scope? fishing stuff? 2 tickets for a fishing trip?

We kind of live far away from each other so borrowing something would be difficult. Bought him a new cordless drill two years ago.

SPOT might be a good idea though, never thought of that.

Fishing trip would probably be the best.
