I posted on the general chat, but maybe more cat traffic here.............. Looking at getting on 09 M1000, the dealer advised me that a low altitude clutch kit should be installed as too not over rev here in the flatlands. As well if the kit was not installed there may be warranty issues should there be problems with it riding at our low elevations.
So my dilemma........believe him and pay the extra cash to get in installed or leave it as is.
I will be riding 99% of the time here in the lowlands.
What would you m1000 owners do or have done.
I'm pulling the pin on this one soon so need to know quick.
Thanks

If it was me i would change the helix and install the heavier weights just for the performance gains at low altitude.

don't believe your dealer!!! you still have warranty. does he think a mountain guy is going to bring his sled in every time he is going from prairie to the mountains,i don't think so. my 08 1000 comes setup for 6-9000 ft and runs 80gram weights, for the prairies it asks for 85's and a purple spring and different helix on the chart. mine over revs really easy if you don't put heavier weights in for the prairies.

Well picked up the sled last weekend. Put in the heavier weights and left the helix and spring stock. unfortunately for the lack of snow will have to wait a little before trying it out..........even though its killin me to sit..Thanks all for the input, greatly appreciated..
I'd like to hear how the adjustable weights work out for catpride..
