So what is the best Ski-Doo sled made for a Lady that is not heavy, tippy and is easy to steer??????

Also low in HP so she does not rip uncontrollably through the trees / fences / parking lots / ditches and over jumps :nono:

What do you think????

Do you have this sled For Sale???

Xp's are light. You could look into a renegae.. They have a pretty wide stance and and the engine options will more than suit your needs. 600 e-tech has 120 HP still... might be too much but they make 550 fan models I think she would find MORE than suffieceint or now they even make a new 600 4 stroke.. the 600 ACE.. Very relaible motor.. Quiet and runs very VERY smooth.. No hard clutch engages... you squeeze the throttle and it starts to instantly move. they are 137" tracks so im sure it would be MORE than fine for her.. IMO

I guess one should ask the question: is it for trail riding or mountain riding? If it will be ridden in the mountains, buy an e-tec w/ a 146" track. Good starter sled, good mileage, e-start, etc. A renegade will suck in anything other then spring conditions due to the coupled suspension in the rear. Too often I see the significant other picking a sled for his wife, and she is frustrated with it. If you can, rent a couple different machines and let her decide - she'll be happier in the long run.

I agree, I demo'd a 600 E-tech 144" for my little sister, and it was awesome. I was really impressed with the power for a 600, and the 146x16 has decent floatation for a lighter rider.

Why are you guys telling him to get something with a 2 1/4 inch track for ditch bangin? lol... and he said LOW in horsepower... 600 e-tech does NOT classify as low horsepower and will rip uncontrollaby anywhere it wants to go if one cant control it properly. and he also said tree's/fences/parking lots/ditches... Therefore hes talking about a ditch banger/trailer sled. Summit PERIOD is NOT a good ditch banger.. ------> "MOUNTAIN SLED". The 600 e-tech is definatly an awesome motor and could be the way for him to go but I do NOT think that she would be happier on a summit than on a renegade... Huge 8" riser.... Big lugs on the track... they have a weaker skid period.

First, any modern sled, regarless of the motor size, can rip uncontrollably through the trees if the operator is not aware of how the sled handles...600, 800, heck I have seen 440's with way more get up and go than some 800's.

Second, as asked, what is the intended use of this sled? Trail riding? Mountain riding? My girlfriend has in the past 2-3 years ridden a handful of times each season and rides a Rev 151 800 with ease. She upgrades to my 800 154 XP this year. Biggest issue with her is upper body strength. She is 5'3 and 105lbs so having a sled with estart is nice. She rolls sleds over and sometimes has a harder time getting them right side up again but is learning to get out of stucks by using her head and not trying to muscle the sled around. I personally wouldn't put her on anything smaller than a 146 800. If she gets into a spot that she can't ride out but needs the HP to climb, atleast I can.

A 600 etech is nice though. Good reliable motor, good power too. There are some deals to be had on a few year old Polaris 600's as well. I rode with a guy that had one. Surprised me everytime how good of a power plant that 600 was.

if its going to be used on the trails any of the new summits are virtually useless. 35 inch stance...ya they handle about as good as a seadoo. better off with a renegade something witha stable stance, light steering and not so much lug. 600cc should be no problem to handle. one of the lightest sleds on the market

havent read the thread but possibly consider one of the 1000cc (130hp is pretty tame) yamaha 4 stroke trail sleds. POWER STEERING. ELECTRIC START, and the only one that has to worry about the extra weight is you getting her unstuck :D

Have 3 550 backcountry freestyles for work they are a great little sled. If the 600 summits to much you might want to take a look at the 550. Had them since 08 and they have held up really well.JMO Cheers and good luck.

You just can't beat the 600 class no matter the brand  We all enjoy ours. It's a 144 x 2.5" track. Definately would not go smaller with track size. The sled is light enough for my girls to handle. Even when stuck if dad isn't around ;)

I bought wifey a summit 146 etech a year ago,She loves it. I tried to talk her into an m series but she found it harder to steer and overall felt heavier. The 600 etech runs flawlessly and doesn't rip out of her hands like the 800's do. I think it feels a little tippy, but if your not an aggressive rider I don"t think it is an issue. It is the lightest machine in our trailer, and I don't think you would be disappointed. Good luck!
