I switched to a yellow/white 120/280lbs vs the 140/290 that came with it. Mine wasn't broke I just didn't like the engagement, I haven't tried it out yet but if I can't hold RPM or I don't like the way the yellow/white acts I'll be going with a 120/330 spring. I also changed my shim to the thicker to adjust the deflection. Springs are cheap so it's easy to try a couple, whatever you end up with post your result for others with similar questions.

It is a known issue to Arctic cat that the new m8 ho motor is breaking primary springs. They have said to use the same colour as the 2009 m8 were using. (I can't remeber colour right now.) This apparently solves broken spring issues.

it is the orange with white stripe primary, for some reason the new orange/black keeps breaking

My dealer basically gave me a choice of any spring when I came in to warranty it. Based on his advice and such, I chose the Orange/White. Apparently it was the "high engagement" spring for the older 800's, but is very similar to the stock Black/Orange. Might have slightly higher engagement.

just got a Yellow/White in my sled now hope that spring works good..my dealer said the yellow/white is about 100 or 150 less engagement then the stock Black/Orange, i think the yellow/white is about 5lbs in different on the finished than the black/orange spring.
