What can you tell me about this sled?

2007 Arctic Cat LXR F8.......Looking at one for my wife, don't know anything about these short track trail sleds, it's got a 128 track with a 1 inch lug. You think it's got enough to get through a bit of powder? It should have plenty of power but what do you guys think for a all around sled for my wife,And what do you think it's worth?

I think, if I recall correctly they had a 14" wide track. Not sure though

We used to ride the mountains with a lot less track and engine than that, so sure it should handle a bit of powder. Value? Probably around the same as an M8 of that year I would guess.

Specs say 15 wide so that's a plus, may be able to upgrade the track to larger paddles

By the looks of that tunnel mod you could go longer too.

I would check to see how easy it is to get parts if needed, If it was only made for a year or 2. It could become a pita, nice looking sled though

From what I have read parts shouldn't be an issue, reviews say it's a great trail sled ,my issue would be a foot of powder, I read there is only room for a1.5 inch track, extended to a 136 and it would be fine, reading and learning as I go.Think I may go pick er up tomorro.

Just throwing this out there...instead of changing track extending tunnel etc.....unless your bored and nothing to do. But why dont you just buy what you want.......ya know turn key.

That suggestion only came up because the tunnel is already extended. Check out the pic.

my dad has a 2008 lxr 800, loves it, handles well, rides great, adjustable seat and handle bars.

its terrible in deep snow but may just be the rip saw track.

he also just bought a 2011 f8 ext with the 800 HO in it, has a 144 and it has all the same great trail handling capabilities but it works it deep snow alot better. it has a cobra on it.

its warm as well, lots of wind blocking body work

if you can get it to a 144 and put some mountain skis on it, it should do decent.


oh and my dads 66, and 160 lbs and flys around at 100 mph on the ext, my mom now drives the 2008 and loves it.

My 97 Summit came stock with a 1.5 x 136, and it did fine in Vale, McBride, Kakwa, CNP, etc etc...... If it looks good in person, and you know what to look for. Might as well pick it up.

Our 10 yr old rides a 2007 F5 LXR with a 136" track with a 2" lug. Looks identical to the sled you have posted and it does pretty good in deep snow. The track fit no problem without a tunnel extension. It was on the sled when we bought it but the guy we bought it from didn't mention anything about having to change the drivers so you could go with a 2" paddle track without to much work I think.

I'm the guy that sold it to DDrake and the 2" fit with no problem. The track that is on his sled has the notches for the coolers that's it. Not sure if u have to have that style or not. It's just what I had available

Question is why was the tunnel extended? Smashed and decided to extend when replaced?
