Way more Woman riding in Fernie this winter

There are way more woman riding in the Fernie area this year...way, way more than previous years. I don't know if its a Covid thing or just changing times in general. We've seen large groups of woman as well as couples and family's.

Has anyone else noticed this trend?

yep, a smart man will give her a little bit of a scare then you can have the boys trips back. LOL

but yes lots of women and childeren up at the cabins this year its good to see

My daughter is one of them in Fernie. Could be because I gave her and her fiance our old sleds. Secures my place at the house on the ski hill when I want. lol

Like Doug says Steph has run a few clinics down there and brought the ladies out to improve their skills. I applaud her for doing that.

There was a woman's riding clinic a couple of weeks ago. Chatted with a lady in the staging area who had come down from Whitecourt with her family. The husband and kids went skiing for 2 days while she was ripping it up with the ladies...good to see.

Maybe their sick of being home with the husbands and cooking get out with the girls and have fun

I wish my wife would come out more! We used to do some trails in Ontario, and a couple times here in Alberta. She’s a big wimp when it comes to the cold & did it for the kids.

The more families that we can get out will only help keep areas open & the sport alive. Maybe the politicians will listen if it’s not just us monster drinking white Oakley guys that are speaking up? Lol

the last time she went out was about +3c on a clear sunny day. It was so hot in my gear that i had to peel off as soon as we stopped and that was trail riding lol! it's just not for her I guess...
