Water tank and pump

Tossing around the idea of getting a plastic water tank and a gas powered water pump(transfer pump with 2" hose) to wash the machines before loading up and going home. Would be better to leave the mud in the bush instead of bringing it home and easier cleanup too. I don't want to spend much money. Looks like I could get a BE pump and peavy mart for $250. Haven't found a tank online yet that is in Edmonton.

Any ideas or thoughts? Obviously I won't be washing by creeks or water.

I just use an rv electric water pump and a garden spray nozzle. Works good to get the bulk of it off. I have it in the back of my truck and just plug it in to my accessory cigar plug. You can draw water right out of the creek as well.

I like that setup but looking for a little more flow. Kinda like using a 2" firehose to clean it lol.

The problem I would see using a 2" hose, is you would empty your tank way to fast. It takes quite the pump to push water through a 2" hose, and your water consumption would be huge.

Thinking of a 100 gallon-ish tank. Even with that size you think id still run out of water? Also I am thinking I would use a 1" nozzle on the end of the 2" hose.

It's surprising how much pressure I get. I've washed the truck with one tank of water.

Just remember every gallon of water weighs 10lbs, so that 100 gallon tank holds 1000lbs of water, which might affect your payload capacity depending on what you're hauling it with.

I like the 12volt trailer pump idea with a good nozzle on the hose would do a lot, or if you wanted more i would use one of these:

I don't think it is illegal to draw out of a creek is it? As long as you are washing well away from the creek. But either way this is why I am using a tank.

I can't get drinking water out of a creek ? The srd boys in Nordegg had no issue with it. They even commented on how slick of a set up it was.

Cannot divert (ie. remove) water from any natural waterway without a permit. And good luck getting a permit for "washing my quad".
Only the O/G companies are allowed to drain lakes and rivers for fresh water. lol!!!

Pretty sure there's a big difference between drinking water and 100gallons of water for washing your quad.

All I'm saying is be careful. Do whatever you guys want.

You're supposed to get a water draw license if you are going to pull water from Creeks, Streams, Lakes. The Gov always wants their permit tax money.
