Good Evening,
I am new here.......... my main purpose here is to learn... I got this really cool boyfriend that rides and I want to learn all that I can so that I can support him in his hobby. I know he will teach me lots but anything I can learn here would be great too!! So any basics you can share would be great and maybe after awhile the bigger badder stuff!!! lol first thing I learned was saftey first!!:) I know he rides a Yamaha!! Yamaha what? Sled or quad. It makes a difference.

his sled is a Yamaha it is an older machine and is modified. When he raced he was in the 700 and the 800 class if that helps.

Welcome to the site. closely connected to safety would be the idea that you ride at your own comfort level and don't be afraid to tell others if you aren't. anxiety and panic= mistakes. :twocents:

Make it fun for yourself and have some fun with it within your comfort zone, riding steep ditches or going to the mountains and not feeling comfortable with it are things that will discourage you away from the sport, but by feeling comfortable with it and speaking up is going to boost your confidence and get you doing things to make you enjoy it alot more.By staying in your riding ability and by learning from the people you're riding with is going to let you love the sport as much as your boyfriend or the rest of us love it. Also by following the riders in front of you, you can watch what they are doing, and where there centre of gravity is on the machine, and it lets you understand what you and the machine should be doing.

The more you ride the better you get start off slow and easy and work your way up so get out there and get a.. time in the saddle and have fun
35 years riding get still excited for the frist ride of season

Welcome to the site. You are a lucky girl. We just opened a women section here called "Horsepower Honeys". Go in introduce yourself tell them your new to snowmobiling and need some tips. pretty much sledding is a learn as you go watching others .... i took the misses out first time three years ago well me throwing a sled around and her doing it is just a tad different .....found the best thing was her to follow some other girls riding and learn ,,,, worked like a damn .... its all fun

Welcome!! Like SledderGlen said, come by Horsepower Honey's and introduce yourself... if you have any specific questions please don't be shy and ask us. The ladies are very helpful on this site. :d
