Does anybody know where I can buy the material used on the filter socks? I want to build my own vent kit for the side panels and hood...priced them out at Specialty Sleds and $400.00 for the kit...Wow. I can make them way cheaper if I can find the proper material, I looked at crappy tire, they have door screen but it's not fine enough I think that the fine powder would flow right throught it. I see SLP has a 3" round vent but I want more to get rid of the heat under the hood.

Any thoughts???? ideas????

Thanks crew.

Specialty Sleds Sells Rolls Of The Screen I Think They Are Around $50 For A Roll. I Made My Own As Well They Work Real Good I Get Around 300km More To My Belt. I Used Stainless Great Then Glued The Screen To The Back Side. It Looks Very Sharp. I WILL POST SOME PICS OF IT IF I GET TIME TONIGHT.

That's exactly what i want to do. I talked to Ken and gave him the B.S. story that I tore a hole in one and I wanted to repair it myself and his only response was that he would break open a kit and sell me the individual panel I ripped....no bulk material.

I'm very curious where you got the material!! How long ago did you buy it? maybe he used to sell it and stopped due to the niche he has now with these kits.

Thanks for the help, i'll try ken @ MM and see what he say's.

Summitric suggested Rory@ Pure Addiction, I went on their site and he has the kit for $180.00, maybe if I wave $150 in front of him he'll take it saving me a bit of time building my own.

Thanks for everyone's help.:D

I got a set from 2CoolAirvents this summer. $50.00/vent and $28.00 shipping. Real nice vents, they look like they came on the sled from factory.

I just emailed 2coolairvents for a quote on the bottom and mid vents so i'll wait and see what they come back with. If i go ahead with this how should i ship these, i've read some horror stories in other threads about shipping parts from the USA with the exchange rate being so strong (high ship costs, long lead times, guy's not recieving goods.)

I'm still interested in someone who has found a place to purchase the material. I have a few spots I would like to drill out and put the mesh behind. Maybe this mesh isn't so special and we've been led to believe it is. Any further info would be appreciated.

Cheerz.

Someone on SW suggested using trampoline material. I did some checking and found the tramp material allows 230 cfm of air flow. I don't know what the prefilter material is though.
I've heard others suggest Phifertex which can be bought here in Calgary at
Outerwears sells pre-filter material

We purchased some at Centerpiont in Leduc. I think it might be in Rec. Supply in Saskatoon.

Hi all, I have used a Stainless Steel screen for vents, I will have to look @ work as to what it is called. Some of the stuff is woven pretty tight but it actually has pretty go flow. Maybe give the "Metal supermarket" a call they have all kinds of odd stuff. there is one on the west end of Edmonton and on 75 st. and south of roper road.

I bought a roll of plastic pet screen door screen at Home Depot. It is similar to what I have seen on the manufactured vents.I also saw some by the foot at Campers Village last summer.

Yep, Home Depot, pet screen. You have to buy a fairly big roll for about $40 bucks but it is the exact material used by many of the people making vents these days. It's pretty bulletproof and easy to work with. You will find it with the standard window screen but it is specifically labelled Pet Screen.
