Looking to go to vega tomorrow and I have not figures out if it is worth going . Is it just sand or is there a mix? Lots of trails of skeg?? If it is just sanddunes I think I'll pass. Any opinions are more or less appreciated.

More sand than anything. There is some good muskeg parts and a few deep water crossings that can really test your snorkels, but for the most part it's a Sport Quad Haven.

Instead, theres a 'T' intersection where you turn right into Fort Assinaboine to go to vega, make a left there instead (right by the FasGas). It will take you towards the centre of Alberta. Theres a place called Trapper Lea's Cabin. Thats more like 4X4 Quad paradise. Theres 2 REALLY good trails full of muddy ruts, slippery muddy slopes and tons of good 'ol skeg. Bring a Winch!

It's great for an over night trip. 1st day take the Trappers Loop, and the next day take the Centre of Alberta trail. Pack a lunch too, they take a while.

No, couldn't make it to the rally, I had a job interview. Need cash for mud tires and things like that.

And sounds good, have fun. That place has never let me down.

To Quad,Well buddy I gotta thank you, the ride out to the Centre of alberta was great lots of skeg lots of water lots of trail I got really muddy:d we had a fellow from Vancouver who couldn't believe what we do for fun. Of course we damn near drowned him when he rolled his quad in a fairly deep hole but he is ok with a greater respect for the ride. Magaged to make out to the creek to an old cabin. Boy are all the rivers and creeks ever high. Hope to have some pics for you later. Thanks again for the tip!
