Valemount Update April 17 2007

Hello

Trail Grooming, Snow Patrol and Collections are now ended for the 06/07 season, riders are accessing all areas at their own risk and expected to be aware of the avalanche conditions, respect all facilities and pack out their garbage.

That being said, Riders are still leaving from the Allan Creek parking lot and at Clemina, most riders are parking down at the pull out just past the main parking area. The base up top is absolutely unreal. We've also had roughly 8-10" of fresh reported on Monday at both locations and with these mild and wet temperatures, it looks like more snow for our alpine areas. We'll be riding for a while yet !

Extreme Team

The Extreme Team is returning to Valemount this year for another action packed weekend of filming. They will be in town on May 2nd and riding for roughly four days. On Thursday, May 3 after 7pm the Extreme Team will be at the Caribou Grill giving away free autographed posters, so if you are in the area come on in and meet the team !

Where do you fish around Valemount?

Fraser and the North Thompson River this time of year, All lakes in Jasper open on May 1(Talbot is fun for jacks on the fly) Moose lake will be ice off in a couple of weeks and it has killer lake trout fishing for about a week or two. In June its time to hit up the big boys of Kinbasket Lake. Look for guided tours on Kinbasket lake in the years to come !

Cool. I often wondered about Moose Lake. Only good for a week or so eh? Do they then they go down deep?
