Warm temps and stormy weather have been the trend this week. Down low things are wet and sticky, but the snow has remained soft and sweet up high. Please understand that we are doing our best efforts on the trails with above freezing temps and very low mid week users.

All three areas will be groomed up tonight.

Winds have been hammering snow around and the riders are rewarded best, when looking for hidden pockets in sheltered terrain.

Ride safe and always check avalanche.ca before your ride

In Vale for a weekend of riding and AST 1 with Frozenpirate!! Up Allen, trail good, only 60-70 riders. Socked in and cloudy like driving in fog!! We were in 8-12 inches of fresh!

Thanks to Marshall, Curtis and Frozenpirate for a excellent AST1 weekend! If you haven’t got it, take it!! Small price to pay for the knowledge you gain! And rode Allen back into Premier where we hadn’t been for 15yrs so that was a bonus! Trails were good, good snow wasn’t hard to find.

Windy and warm have been the theme of this week but the alpine snow is holding up well when you find terrain that has been sheltered from the direct winds.

20-30cms of storm snow awaited us in Superbowl today and plenty more in windloaded areas. The weather forecast is calling for continued snowfall, winds and warm temps which will make for some great tree riding over the weekend.

Trails are in great shape with the extremely low numbers this week and if tomorrows numbers are usual for a Friday, all three areas will be hit with the machines tomorrow night.

Ride safe.

20-35 cm of new snow is expected to fall at higher elevations in the region by end of day on Friday. Add this to the 20cms we have already received in the high country this week, and you are making for some great riding conditions heading into the weekend. :Snowmobile1:

Keep your ears and calendars open for a special weekend of sled celebration in Valemount on March 20th, 2020. SLEDFEST is going to be a family friendly, weekend long event for everyone with an exciting show never before seen in Valemount.

Stay tuned for more info.

Quite the storm we are being hit with. All three trails groomed up fresh tonight and the plows are scheduled to hit the lots in the very early morning. Lots of new snow and wintery weather out there. Check avalanche.ca before you head out and ride safe.

Big thanks to Terry at the summit river lodge for letting us try his 850 turbos. They are everything they advertised it to be! The snow is deep and it’s still coming down!

Snow was awesome today. Mixed bag of weather. Witness someone set off a slide and have his sled partially buried in the debris just after avalanche alley heading to the back of Allen. Snow slabs cracking on simple terrain. Make smart decisions people.

Pardon me if this isn’t the spot for this but I lost a large black mountain addiction lunch box in Allen today. Full of goodies. If anyone happened to find it that’d would be sweet. I’ll be in town for the night just pm me and I could even throw in some cash. That trail out woulda sucked to carry it out haha
Thanks

Allan and Clemina groomed up fresh last night. Chappell has only had 40 riders on it since the last groom, so it needs to see some more use before the machine heads up again.

Looks like a little break in the weather before the next storm, so get out and enjoy some improved vis and great snow.

Ride safe!
