when tearing apart your sled to do a simple repair/mod what have you found that came as a suprise and extra cost haha

this summer my rev project was due for some powdercoated rails...

well when i tore it apart it needed 2 new rails, new shock, all new bushings and bearings and a compete rear arm. 500$ extra but i couldnt put it back together like that!!

then when i was installing my clutch kit i realized i needed 2 new clutches.

the joy of toys!!:)

Had a 99 600 RMK, resealing exhaust y-pipe to cylinders. Looked up the port to check piston condition. Could see a small scar on the left side of port. Pulled cyl. About 2mm of the end of the bottom ring broke off and wore a hole in the piston about 3mm wide 6mm tall and 3 mm deep. It also gouged out the cyl to the point it had to be replated. The engine had equal compression on both cyls and ran great. 3800 miles at the time. A $5 silicone job turned into a new jug and piston.
