Anyone know of quads designed for two people and which is the best? A couple I know are wanting to buy their first quad and plan to do some doubling. I told them they'd be better off buying two, as I don't recommend doubling on a quad as it affects the handling too much.

They can't afford two though, so hopefully there is a quad out there that can safely handle two people.

I've had a seat on the back for years with no problems, however if you want a true 2 up I believe Can Am makes one. I just had a seat on the back of my Arctic cat and that worked fine. Also a lot cheaper. They may also want to consider a side by side too.

i ride a outlander 500XTMAX 2 seater love it,rented it to hydro, there polaris 2 seater broke [axle] they took mine and loved it ,said its bigger but way more stable,it will climb a tree with out lifting the front wheels, longer wheel base even rides smoother. I was the only one with a 2 seater in are group when started rideing now there is 4 in are group, out of 6, take the back seat off when alone and add your lockable storage trunk and giver .:d

We sell the Arctic Cat brand and they have many two seaters available
500, 550. 650 700 and even a 1000.

We have some new non-current models that are up to 2100 off. These are the 2008 500 trv models.. we have them on sale for 7900.00 with a two yr warranty, there is a 300 pdi charge plus tax as well so you would be looking at 8100 plus tax,

We also have a winch promo on that allows you to get a 2500lb warn winch for $ 350.00 (installed)

My cuz has the 500xtMax Can Am that I ride on occasion. Yup, its a nice machine except for the heavy steering that makes it one miserable SOB to handle. After 30 minutes on tight trails, it feels like you've gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. Other than that , Great.

We were in the same boat a couple years ago, ended up getting the rzr instead of two machines. The wife likes to ride more than drive.
We use to double on my BF with a back seat but if I were to go back to that, think I'd go with the can am 800 max with the eps and air suspension.

We have an Outty 650 Max and love it. Rides great with one or two peeps. Actually like the bit longer wheelbase, there have been some advantages even when riding solo. I've doubled some heavier peeps and don't really know they're back there unless climbing some knarlier stuff, then I've had to do a little suspension adjustment to keep the front down  and the back from bottoming out!
I'd have to ask hubby what it's like riding in the backseat though ;):p ...JK :)
