CALGARY - Two Calgarians are dead after a semi truck collided head-on with a tractor trailer early this morning in B.C., police said.
Revelstoke RCMP said they responded to a three-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway about 25 kilometres east of the city at 2 a.m. today. Upon arrival, they found a eastbound semi had crossed the centreline and crashed into a westbound tractor trailer.
Both the driver, 29, and the passenger, 39, of the semi were killed in the crash. Both were from Calgary, but no names have been released.
Meanwhile, the drivers of the the westbound vehicle and a third truck that was involved were not injured. The last truck was caught in the debris field left behind by the initial crash.
Police say there have been reports that the eastbound vehicle - carrying the two deceased - was being driven erratically prior to the crash.
The investigation is continuing at this point. The Trans-Canada east of Revelstoke remains closed as of 9:32 a.m.
