Trailer re-lighting

I’d like to change out the incadescants on my 07 h an h to LED fixtures.

Currently my tow vehicle has the 4-pin setup. I’d like to purchase a kit with backup lights. (See link below). Is it a huge pain to re-do the tow vehicle for 5-pin?

wouldn't it make sense to install a 7 pin plug on the tow vehicle and on the trailer, that way the trailer works with any vehicle.

Just because you go to the seven pin connector doesn’t mean you need to wire all 7 pins! Just No brake controller! Buy one of these adaptors and tap into the vehicles reverse lights or wire the appropriate pin to a switch!

Change the plug to a seven pin on the trailer and wire the appropriate pin to your lights. Connect the negative wire from the light to the chassis or back to the trailers ground wiring.

Done!

FYI the right UHaul location sell hitch receivers and wiring kits usually cheaper than most!

Get one of the harnesses that will convert your veh to 7 pin as more than likely if you buy a truck it will come with one.. its just a plug and play harness... Those lights you put in your link the back up light output is really low you will not be happy with that at all.. go with a better setup or individual back up light.. Go to one of the local truck shops in your area and get some good lights and better wire go with something like arctic wire as it stays nice and flexable in the winter and it a good quality wire... The wire that comes in that kit within a year or two you will start having wiring issues ... Both Premium and CBS have good quality lights and wire.. You will thank yourself in the end for spending a little more as it will last.. I watch people buy cheap lights and wire and are constantly fighting issues
