I volunteered to deliver an ATV safety course to a crew of 10 Junior Forest Rangers. In return, they are offering their services for free. Since I have no need for their services, I figure we can put them to work for a day doing trail maintenance.

They're available July 19. Anyone wanna scoop these guys up for trail maintenance that day?

I'm gonna give it another day or so to see if we can do something for ATV trails first. They are eagerly waiting for us to put them to work. If I don't get something lined up for them by Thrusday, I'm gonna let them off the hook, but it would be cool to give them the opportunity to pay it forward.

Anyone?

Athabasca I believe has an ATV club, try contacting Athabasca Power Products and see if they have any contacts. The issue here of course is that there is not much out there as of yet for actual "ATV Clubs" or "ATV Trails" just random trails..... I'm sure I could put them to work at the lake lot slashing tree's out for me but that's not the point.

Any idea if there's a group that looks after Long Island Lake trails?

That would be Pembina drift busters but that is more for snowmobile usage, but you might try them anyways as some of us:rolleyes: use that area for ATVing. I would have suggested Lac Ste Anne ATV club but we just did a trail cleaning at Stanger Hills,

The Lac Ste Anne club was the first place I went because I belong to that club. ...but they don't like to answer their e-mails.

Still got the feelers out but have no responses yet. I need about $500 to break even, so that's the price to anyone that wants them for a day of personal use (but still no charge if used for trail maintenance). Any takers?

10 man Junior Forset Ranger Crew services for 1 day. Preferred day is July 19, but is negotiable. This crew is normally worth about $2000 per day equipped and insured.
- $500 if for personal use
- No charge if used for trail maintenance

Going once....

Trail System by Calling Lake area also. Talk to the Polaris Dealer in Athabasca for a contact. Or just get them to cut firewood for the staging areas of the trails up there

wow giving away free labour shouldnt be that hard.

No doubt! I thought I could do two good deeds by throwing one stone, but I gave up trying ths morning. Ah well, it's one extra day the JFR's have to fight pine beetle or whatever else keeps them busy.
