Coming back from Shaw's Point a few weeks ago my wife says "look at your tacklebox!"....I had it in the rear of the box against the tailgate and the wind blowing over the cab of the truck and under the front of the fifth wheel was strong enough to levitate my big 4 drawer box, if I sped up to 110km/hr it would pick it right up against the bottom of the gooseneck on the fifth wheel. I've lost plastic wheel chocks I threw into the box and learned to not put anything light back there, but man, that's gotta be worth a few MPG in turbulence? Wondering if I should get a deflector, I've read they also help keep the bug shrapnel off the front of the trailer. Not looking to get super fuel economy out of it, just wondering if anyone is using one and did you notice a difference in mileage? Running an 8.1L for power so every bit might help....she likes the fuel towing 12,000 lbs

I have one that goes on the roof.

Tyred it once. Has like straps and suction cups. But it moves back and just about falls off roof.

Was going to make a mount that goes into the box pockets.

Not sure if it helps but I has to keep the drag off the front of the trailer so I would say yes it does.

I had the same issue, I lost a socket set out of the back of the truck. I put a air gate on and that took a lot of the turbulence away.

I've got a big jockey box and it opens the lid. With either tail gate. Stocker or air flow

I have used the suction cup roof set up as well. I was towing a 22.5 foot fifth wheel with a 4.8 so gas was going to be horrible regardless of what I did. I didn't notice much help with regards to turbulence as I got a flat tire one time and threw the center cap of my mag wheel in the back. It was gone when I got home (the cap is pretty lite though).... I did like however that the front of the trailer was very clean all the time, no bugs and it was easier to clean the roof wing than the front of the trailer.
